Mohamed Collier is a multi-skilled GIS and Survey Consultant with extensive expertise in geospatial technologies, drone operations, and surveying. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Geography from the University of Sierra Leone, Fourah Bay College.
As a Consultant at Vector Geomatics Technologies Limited, he plays a key role in project planning, cost estimation, and technical training for professional drone and mapping applications.
Mohamed has conducted multiple topographic, mining, cadastral, and construction surveys, providing technical expertise in data collection, spatial analysis, and mapping. He has worked on major projects, including serving as a drone pilot for a LiDAR survey for Gold Lion Mining Company in Kono, utilizing DJI Matrice 300 RTK, Emlid Reach Base and Rover, and other high-precision UAVs. Additionally, he served as a Survey Assistant on topographic survey projects requested by Jong Minerals Limited, Leone Minerals, Ro Resources, and Marampa Mines Limited, which were executed by Vector Geomatics Technologies Limited.
His expertise covers mining surveys, construction surveys, and geospatial analysis, and he is proficient in Surpac, AutoCAD, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Pix4Dmapper, LiDAR 360, Leica GPS, and Topcon GPS. He also provides technical support and training in drone mapping and surveying. With strong skills in remote sensing, spatial data management, and field operations, Mohamed continues to contribute to the advancement of geospatial technology and professional surveying in Sierra Leone.
Mohamed is responsible for:
- Conducting and and providing support on GIS-related projects.
- Conducting physical site surveys using DGPS.
- Verifying accuracy of survey data
- Recording and downloading results of surveys in the absence of the Senior Surveyor
- Coordination and supervision of field staff, and
- Identifying and recording of any safety issues
